A lot is happening here at Corn Wagon Quilt Co. We have several new classes and clubs that we have not offered before. We have started what we call our "Garden Club." The club meets once a month, usually on the third Friday of the month, and we stitch and chat while we recreate the Florence Peto Calico Garden quilt that is housed in the Shelburne Museum. We have the pattern and also some kits that contain reproduce fabric from the original quilt. We are having a great time visiting, sewing and making new friends. This club is free and open to anyone who is interested in growing a flower garden out of fabric. In March Marianne Michaels will be teaching a Crazy Quilt Class. She has several examples of her crazy quilts in the store and they are a must see. She has the traditional satin, silk & velvet crazy quilt, but she has also done a wool crazy quilt and just finished a table runner using wool and then embellished it with wool folk art applique. She will also be teaching a class on wool applique and embellishment. We are also excited to have Kerry Green come and teach her City & County Wool Bucket in February. She will be coming again in April to teach her Acorn's Promise Quilt. We also have classes for all skill levels. Please check our website and look at our class schedule which includes pictures. http://cornwagonquilts.com/images/2011_Winter_Class_Schedule.pdf

In May we are excited to have Miss Rosie, Carrie Nielson, come and teach two classes. We are currently finalizing the details with Carrie, but she has talked about creating a Schnibbles pattern just for our classes. We are excited to see what she has up her sewing sleeve. Once we know the details we will post them on our website: www.cornwagonquilts.com

We have several spring looking fabric lines that have arrived recently that will help chase those winter blues away. Did you know that besides offering traditional long arm quilting, we also offer quilt basting. We can put your quilt on the long arm and do the basting you need to do before hand quilting. This eliminates bending over banquet tables or crawling around the floor. If you have quilts that didn't get done for last Christmas, now is the time to get them quilted. The turn around is much quicker. We also offer hemstitching. We have lots of receiving blanket kits, but we will also hemstitch your flannel. The cost of hemstitching is $1 a running foot and that includes having all the raw edges serged. The serging creates a beautiful ravel free edge.

We are looking forward to Shop Hop in June. Mary Ann Nelson is busy creating our Shop Hop quilt. She loves to keep us guessing on what it is going to look like. All we know is it is going to include lots of red, black, and white. She is excited about it and that means it is going to be spectacular. The question is: "How small are her pieces going to be?" She is the queen of small!

We look forward to having you stop by for a visit. We love seeing you and be sure and bring in the projects you are working on. We love show and tell!

It is not too late to sign up for our Block of the Month 2011. We are featuring Wild Rose II with the fabric by Maywood Studio and the patterns and fabric designed by Marti Michelle. Or choose a more trendy line also printed by Maywood Studios called Thirteen Going on Thirty.
Visit with us the 2nd Saturday in February to join and catch up from last month. Classes run from 10-1. Pre-registration is suggested so that we have adequate kits prepared.

We are so excited about Shop Hop this year with the Greatest Quilt You Ever Read. We will be transforming our quilt shop into the magical realm of "Fablehaven" by Brandon Mull. Be sure and drink your "magic milk" before you come so you can fully participate in our atmosphere!
