The Stitching Corner, Inc.

The Stitching Corner--Orem, Utah

Now of legal age: We're celebrating our 21st Birthday! Come in today for a free drink on the house, followed with a cookie chaser and a free gift from your friends at The Stitching Corner.

Greetings from The Stitching Corner in Orem. This March we are celebrating our 21st Birthday. We opened March 1, 1990 with 15 sewing machines, 10 pairs of Gingher scissors, 1,000 spools of thread and 100 packs of needles. During March we want to thank you, our loyal customers, by offering you a big surprise. Just come in the store and yell "HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY" and you will be elated. Beings we are 21 and now legal, we will reward you with a free drink, a free cookie, a free gift and a BIG SURPRISE!

When you visit us, sign up for a class. We have several monthly classes going on, table runners, bags and Ruth Jensen's Nativity quilt. Our applique club of the month will start in May. You will learn a different applique technique every month. The Silk Ribbon Embroidery Club meets the first Wednesday of each month, taught by Esther Randall. The class fee is $10.00 plus a minimal kit fee. Again, you will learn a different silk ribbon embroidery technique each month.

Back packs by Kathy Zobell, kits available.
We've got a fun mystery bag competition going on. Just buy a mysterious bag of fabric, make the bag of your choice, using the mystery fabrics and other fabrics and return it by April 1st. You could be the lucky winner of a $100 gift certificate. Come in and see last years bag entries and winners. You'll be inspired! They are fabulous.

2011 Wasatch Front Shop Hop
We are anxiously preparing for the 2011 Wasatch Front Shop Hop in June. We have chosen the novel, "The Secret Garden", a charming English book about life's met and unmet expectations. We are transforming the shop into an Enlish Garden with loads of floral quilts, a garden swing and an appealing English treat. We will be featuring a display of Esther Randall's quilts and Silk Ribbon embroidery ideas. Also, Scott Blackham will be displaying and demonstrating his favorite Stack & Whack quilts. You'll want to hear him tell his tale of teaching 100 ladies how to make a Stack & Whack table runner in Park City last November. We'll also have other demos, contests and prizes.

We had a blast at our Halloween Party at last year's Shop Hop. You all willingly participated in our "bobbin' for apples", ate our "greasy" popcorn and enjoyed an old fashioned snow cone. Thanks for being such good sports. We plan on even more fun this year!

We have some great samples in the store this spring. Kathy Porter has tickled our fancy with two terrific African Quilts, one with snakes slithering across it. Everyone wants to sleep under a snake, RIGHT? So come and visit us really soon. And don't forget our 21st Birthday Party.

We hope to see you soon.
