Shop Hop 2011 was the best ever! Our staff had a great time representing “The Persian Pickle Club” by Sandra Dallas. We loved wearing our aprons and 20’s style pill box hats. Thanks so much for everyone that took the time and effort to drive up to Brigham City and visit us. We are super proud of the Shop Hop Quilt that Fran Leslie designed for our store. We still have one or two kits if you would like to make it, too.
For the past few years, the Brigham City Museum has had a Quilt Invitational Exhibition. Now through August 17th, you can see works by the featured quilt artist, Lenore Crawford of Midland, Michigan. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday 11 am - 6 pm, Saturday 1 pm - 5 pm and is located at 24 North 300 West in Brigham City. The show is getting rave reviews. Admission is free.
July has a 5th Saturday on July 30th …. The perfect day for a 5x5 sale. Purchase a 2011 bag for $5 (or bring the one you bought earlier this year) and fill it up with fabric, notions, patterns, books and kits. Everything that fits in the bag is 25% off.
On August 12th, Sandy Workman is joining us for the Summer Party class. This all day event (class) will include piecing tips and instruction in the morning and hand work in the afternoon. The lunch will be catered by our fabulous Cyndy, authoress of “My Big Fat Cookbook” (available for purchase at Village Dry Goods).

February marked our first year as new owners of Thimbles & Threads and what a year it has been. We've survived a break-in, a flood, two broken water lines, a sewer line back-up, a snake (you don't want to know!) and the many joys of maintaining a 100+ year old building. Through trial and error we've learned the ins and outs of inventory management, how to deal with vendors/suppliers/manufacturers, and the many facets of bookkeeping and accounting that go along with it all. Whenever it seems overwhelming or impossible, a day at the shop with so many wonderful customers, fabulous fabrics, and beautiful quilts takes away all of our worries and reminds of us of how blessed we are. Thank you for making our first year a successful one!
We have a wonderful new classroom. We're enjoying it so much we've added a few more classes to our winter/spring line up:
Frayed Fish with Dianne Gardner
Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
I love this quilt! This is Dianne's own original pattern. A unique twist on the drunkards path, these raw-edge fish go together quickly and look great in any colorway. This is a terrific STASHBUSTER!
Cost: $15.00 (includes pattern)
You can't appliqué circles as quickly and accurately as the 6-minute pieced circle. This technique can be used for a wide range of curved shapes. Circles, circles within circles, ovals, pears, hour glasses. Your imagination is the only limit! A wonderful addition to your piecing repertoire. Cost: $35.00 (includes pattern & lunch)
If you have an idea or suggestion for a class, please let us know. We're always looking for new ideas!
